Increasing Behavioral Health Services Meeting the Demand
This year’s Holiday Festival will benefit the hundreds of people in the region struggling with mental health illnesses. In the past 18 months, 900 patients in crisis were turned away because there was not space available to meet the demand for services. Rice Memorial Hospital is committed to serving people challenged with mental illnesses in our community and will invest $1.6 million to expand the inpatient behavioral health unit from 8 beds to 12 beds.
Proceeds from the 2014 Holiday Festival events will support the expansion of mental health services by enhancing therapy services and increasing suicide prevention measures.
